Preparing for Year 10 over the Summer
The most impactful and useful thing that you can do to prepare for your GCSE studies is to read regularly. We know that well practiced readers do much better in Year 10 and 11, and they are able to use those skills to support their studies.
Reading for just 20 minutes a day will make a huge difference and is a fantastic habit, but the very best students and scholars make even more time to enjoy the wonderful world of literature.
Choosing a book to read can be very exciting, but also quite difficult if you don't know where to start. We really encourage you to speak to our wonderful librarian if you need some help. Below you can see our recommended reading list for Year 9 students, with books carefully chosen by staff to support and challenge you.
