Students prepare for Duke of Edinburgh
Our Year 10 students undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Award completed their 24km practice expedition in preparation for their Bronze Award.
The programme, designed to inspire and challenge young people to develop their confidence, skills and independence, has raised our students’ aspirations and encouraged them to meet new friends in a new environment.
Students were required to apply their map reading skills to hike from East Grinstead in West Sussex to Broadstone Warren campsite in Ashdown forest, where they arrived and cooked their own dinners.
It was a pleasure to see our students working together in a team to ensure the trip was a success. Great fun was had by all and our Year 10s look forward to completing their Bronze Award.
