Students Thinking, Engaged and Motivated
Our focus on the STEM subjects provides students with the opportunity to further their knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. We celebrate this focus by organising annual STEM weeks, which involve all students in a range of fun, exciting and inspiring activities around these four crucial subjects.
During the spring term, students took part in: a seminar at Thorpe Park looking at the physics of rollercoasters; an experiment at the London Transport Museum challenging students to design a new railway system for London; an interactive session with representatives at the Institute of Physics; a fossil hunt in Hastings; and a question and answer session at the Wellcome Trust, one of our key partners, where they had the unique opportunity to speak to a Nobel Scientist. Congratulations to the winners of the corridor quiz: Hani Mohamed, Gina Haggett and Jason Lee, all in Year 8.
