School Council embrace fundraising challenge for Children in Need
Our School Council representatives demonstrated their leadership skills by organising a whole host of fundraising activities in aid of Children in Need 2012, one of the UK’s leading charities for supporting and providing help to disadvantaged children and young people.
Each tutorial community worked with their peers to raise as much money as they could for the good cause, including cake sales, sponsored silences, fancy dress, a sponsored run and a wet sponge throwing competition. Students were also given the opportunity to wear non-school uniform and many staff arrived at school wearing the infamous Children in Need print of red and yellow spots.
Congratulations to all students for working so hard and contributing a grand total of £1340.41 to the appeal and exceeding last year’s total sum. In the competition between the individual tutorial communities, we’re delighted to announce that the Orange Community won and raised the most money with their cake sale and fancy dress. They will be receiving their prize in tutor time for this excellent achievement. The atmosphere was truly buzzing and a great day of fun was had by all.
