Regent High School's RIBA Award-winning building
We have been delighted recently to win three very prestigious awards from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the professional association for British and overseas architects. This follows our success earlier in the year when we were presented with a Camden Design Award.
The Regent High School redevelopment was awarded a RIBA London Award, one of only 36 winning buildings across the capital, as part of RIBA's Regional Awards. RIBA Regional Awards are given to UK buildings to recognise their regional importance as pieces of architecture.
Following the awarding of a RIBA London Award, Regent High School was also presented with the RIBA London Awards' Sustainability Award for 2016, recognising that the Victorian Medburn Street School has been retained and integrated into the new building.

We were then absolutely thrilled to be awarded a RIBA National Award for 2016, one of only 46 buildings to be awarded this accolade this year. RIBA National Awards are given to buildings across the UK recognised as being significant contributions to architecture. The shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize - which is awarded to the UK's best new building - is drawn from the list of RIBA National Award winning buildings, so the Regent High School redevelopment is in very good architectural company!

Cindy Walters at architects Walters & Cohen said of the awards: 'It was wonderful to win the RIBA London and Sustainability Awards for the school, and we were even more delighted to win a RIBA National Award – our first ever. We truly admire Regent High School's ethos and approach to education, and are proud to have contributed to the school's reputation with award-winning buildings that the pupils and staff enjoy working in'.
Speaking about the awards, Headteacher, Rosemary Leeke, said 'I'm absolutely delighted and very proud that the brilliant vision of our architects to realise fully the ambitions for our school that were articulated at the start of the project by staff and students, has been deservedly recognised by these prestigious awards'.
