Gifted and Talented students inspired by forensics
Report by Taha Chowdhury, Year 9
Year 9 Gifted and Talented scientists visited the Royal Veterinary College in December to participate alongside students from Bournemouth University in learning about different forensic science techniques.
The activity we were given was based on a scenario called ‘Who killed Rudolph?’ which required us to look for and use evidence to solve the mystery. To help, we took part in a number of workshops including; how to interrogate suspects, analysing finger prints, extracting DNA, looking for fibres at the crime scene and how to use a skeleton to help with studying the forensics.
It was a great experience and gave us a good insight into the complexity of forensics.
