Congratulations Class of 2013

 Congratulations to the class of 2013 who have once again achieved impressive results at both GCSE and A Level. Many of our Year 11 students have returned to Regent Sixth Form to continue their studies, build on their academic achievements and prepare for their futures. We are incredibly proud of our Sixth Formers who, having achieved excellent results, successfully secured their places at university.

 GCSE

  • 76% of students achieve 5+ A*-C grades
  • Impressive results across a range of subjects, with some outstanding individual performances from many students
  • One in four students achieved 8+ A*-B grades, a truly impressive achievement, which provides a firm foundation for success in their A Level studies.
  • Science results show a strong upward trend, with 73% of students achieving two or more passes at A*-C or equivalent grades

 REGENT SIXTH FORM

  • 98% pass rate at Key Stage 5
  • 75% of Sixth Form students achieved A*-C grades
  • Impressive subject performances  A Level  English Literature (88% A*-C grades), Applied Science (97% A grade equivalent) and BTEC Performing Arts (100% A grade equivalent)
  • 90% of Year 13 students who applied to study in higher education were offered a place
  • Outstanding individual successes including progression onto Russell Group universities

 HIGH FLYERS OF REGENT HIGH SCHOOL AND REGENT SIXTH FORM

Farjana Huda, former pupil of Netley Primary School, achieved an outstanding 12 GCSEs: 6 A*s, 5 As and 1B and is most proud of her A grade in additional Maths. Farjana is joining Regent Sixth Form to study Maths, Economics, Further Maths and English Literature and plans to study Economics and Maths at university.

Matthew Smith achieved a remarkable 5 A* and 5 A grades and plans to study Maths, Physics, Further Maths and English Literature with a view to studying Engineering at university. Speaking about Regent High School, Matthew claims that the support and commitment of the teachers and additional revision sessions have helped him to secure these top grades.

Axel Kerbec was delighted with his outstanding results which included a total of 12 top grades, 5 A*s, 4 As and 3 Bs. The talented linguist and musician achieved top grades in three language GCSEs, (French, German and Spanish)and music whilst also passing his Grade 8 violin exam with Distinction during his studies. Axel plans to study Physics at university after completing his A Levels.

Other top achievers include: Marjahan Abedin, Khalif Rouf and Shahid Ahmed, all former pupils of Netley Primary School, who between them achieved 37 top GCSE grades including 10 A*s. Noorudin Buraleh secured 12 GCSEs including 9 As, 2 Bs and 1 C grade and has ambitions of becoming a Doctor in the future once he has completed his A Levels at Regent Sixth Form. He attributes his impressive results to the positive learning environment at Regent High School in addition to the homework clubs which encouraged him to work hard.

Our Sixth Form performed impressively, with a remarkable 98% pass rate at Key Stage 5 and 75% of students achieving A*-C grades (A Level and equivalent). 

Nearly 90% of Sixth Formers who have completed their studies at Regent Sixth Form have been offered places on their chosen university courses, including English Literature, Journalism, Government and Economics, Chemistry, Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences. A number of students have successfully secured places at prestigious Russell Group universities, including the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), UCL and Queen Mary, University of London.

Amongst the positive results, there were some exceptional individual performances….

Fathia Begum, former pupil of Argyle Primary School, was ecstatic to discover that not only had she secured her place at LSE to study Government and Economics but that she had achieved top grades in all subjects with A*, A, B in her Politics, Geography and Maths A Levels.

 “The best thing about Regent High School is the numerous opportunities students receive, both inside and outside school. My trip to the United Nations in New York has really inspired me to become a delegate in the future. All the extra revision sessions have enabled me to achieve my goal of going to LSE to study Government and Politics and I’m so grateful for everything the school has done to support me with this.”

Jeta Kika and Leonora Rexhaj are both delighted to have been accepted onto their chosen university course - Theatre Arts at Middlesex, having studied together throughout their time at Regent High School since Year 7.

 “I would recommend Regent High School to anyone in the world. I have had the most incredible opportunities and experiences throughout my time here. The teachers here really push you to reach your full potential and go above and beyond to support students, including providing extra help with university applications.”

Mursal Deerow has ambitious plans to study Chemistry at UCL before undertaking a Masters having performed exceptionally well in his A Levels, securing two A grades and one B grade in Chemistry, Biology and Maths. Mursal attributes his success was is due in part to the excellent teaching at Regent High School and Sixth Form, where he believes every student is encouraged, challenged and supported to reach their full potential.
