A trip to the Olympic stadium
In May, a small group of Year 7 students were selected to watch the 2012 School Games at the Olympic stadium in recognition of their dedication to lunchtime PE clubs, their involvement with inter community tournaments and the talent they have shown in PE lessons.
It was a fantastic opportunity to visit the prestigious venue in what is such an important year for sport in Britain and to watch the country’s top secondary school athletes compete in a number of events, including the javelin, hurdles, pole vault and track races.
Students were impressed by the sheer determination of competitors and were keen to cheer their favourites on in some very intense events. They left inspired and even more determined to pursue their sporting talent.
Here at Regent High School, we pride ourselves on recognising talent and rewarding those who have shown exceptional commitment to reaching and exceeding their potential.
